Our Story

30 Years. Three Reinventions. One Conviction.

MERCI did not happen overnight. It is the product of three decades of understanding industry before building for it.

In 1992, Gagan Raj was not selling software. He was a freelance technology consultant — sitting inside businesses, asking questions, and learning how Indian industry actually ran. He was understanding the industry. That habit of comprehension before construction became the foundation of everything MERCI is.

In 1994, he founded Compaqt Infocomm Pvt. Ltd. and launched 'Dangerous' — a DOS-based software built specifically for Indian businesses that every major technology provider had ignored. No investors. No funding. Just a product that understood the businesses it served. By 2010, Compaqt had 15,000+ clients across India.

Then came the decision that defined his character.

In 2011, Gagan Raj looked at the market and saw clearly: DOS-era software would not survive the next decade. Rather than extend a product past its useful life — as most founders would — he closed Compaqt entirely. Not a pivot. A deliberate full stop. Followed by a deliberate new beginning.

In 2012, MERCI Global was launched under Nidhi Infocomm — a Windows-based ERP system rebuilt from the ground up. A complete product for a new era.

In 2014, MERCI made its next transformation: full migration to cloud-based architecture on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, registered as MERCI Global Systems Pvt. Ltd. At a time when most Indian ERP providers were still defending on-premise installations, MERCI moved to enterprise-grade cloud — and never looked back.

From 2014 to 2025, MERCI built purposefully — deepening its industry expertise, expanding its client base, and earning the kind of trust that only comes from showing up, solving hard problems, and staying long after implementation day. By December 2025, MERCI had served 150+ clients across India.

In 2025, the second generation arrived. Shivam Raj joined with a clear-eyed view: the product was exceptional, but the brand was invisible. MERCI was being compared to accounting software — not because it belonged there, but because it had never positioned itself elsewhere. That changed.

Also in 2025, MERCI's first international client came from the UAE. In January 2026, the Dubai office opened. And in 2026, the rebrand launched — new identity, new positioning, new standard. The same conviction that started in 1992, now engineered for the leaders it always deserved to serve.

The People Behind MERCI.

GR

Gagan Raj

Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Gagan Raj has spent more than thirty years solving the technology problems of Indian industry — first as a freelance consultant in 1992, then as the founder of Compaqt Infocomm in 1994, and since 2012 as the architect of MERCI Global. He has built two companies from scratch, served over 15,000 clients, and made the rare decision to close a thriving business when he saw the market moving forward. His approach has never changed: understand the industry first. Build the technology second.

SR

Shivam Raj

Director — Brand, Strategy & Growth

Shivam Raj joined MERCI in 2025 as the second generation of its leadership. He joined with one conviction: that a company with thirty years of delivered expertise and genuine enterprise depth deserved to be positioned as what it actually is — a premium operational intelligence partner, not a software vendor. He is leading MERCI's brand transformation, its entry into the GCC market, and its repositioning from a respected ERP provider to the enterprise technology partner of choice for India's and the UAE's most ambitious manufacturers.
